We
had a wonderful summer concert season, lots of good music, lots of
fun, and of course lots of smiling faces in the audiences which is
what it's all about. Lake Vista is always a favorite concert
kicking off our summer series, and then we headed to Grace UMC
where Lyle Thompson, our Band Manager, is the Music Director.
Then it was on to Liberty Arms Assisted Living Center which was
scheduled for outside, but it rained, so we rocked the big room and
everyone loved the music. Viets House Strawberry Festival was a very
enjoyable concert, Perfect weather and such a nice setting, then
on to Howland Scope. Once again had to move inside for the
Shepherd of the Valley concert in Niles, but had a nice evening
outside at Marion Living Center in N. Lima the following week.
Then we finished up the season at Park Vista in Youngstown, which
wasn't the planned ending, but we got rained out for the Cortland
Summer Sizzler. So all in all it was a very fun season, and now
we're on hiatus until Sept. 13th, when we will once again start
practicing at the Cortland Middle School, and now we'll be bringing
out the Christmas music (yes, I said Christmas music) so we can be
ready for the holiday concerts.
So
here's the commercial spot! All area musicians are invited to
come and join us any Wednesday night from 7 to 9 pm at the Cortland
Middle School. Please feel free to come and listen or be really
brave and bring your instrument and sit in with us for a great night
of fun and fellowship. You're always welcome at the Cortland
Community Band. We have members from high school age on up.
Actually quite a ways up!
So please feel
free to come and visit.
For
more information please call Pat at 330-652-2424, or Bill & Janice
